Donor’s Legacy Gift to CHLA Honors a Loved One

Lynda Zumoff remembers the fear and uncertainty like it was yesterday.

Years ago, a loved one was diagnosed with a serious condition and came to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for care. Lynda recalls the medical appointments, the child's stay in the hospital—and how worried she felt about the child.

"Because they saved my loved one's life, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles holds a very special place in my heart," Lynda says. "The nurses and doctors treated all the children with such care, love and kindness. They were just terrific."

After the experience with the hospital, Lynda and her husband, Melvin, decided they wanted to create a legacy of support at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. After Melvin's death, Lynda turned to her brother, a doctor, for advice on how to accomplish that. She decided to include Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in her trust.

"I give in honor of my loved one. I also give in honor of those children whose lives have been changed by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles," says Lynda. "I just want to thank Children’s Hospital Los Angeles with my heart and soul for doing what they do."
